Let the games begin
So I'm back from my awesome vacation in Reykjavik and Amsterdam. I LOVED Iceland and plan to go back again to do snowmobiling, see the northern lights, do some caving and see some volcanoes.
There was an obligatory trip to the Blue Lagoon.
I did several tours, the most fun was the Game of Thrones Tour. Here's a cool waterfall
Since this is summer time, it's pretty much light out 24 hours a day. This picture was taken at 3 am and was the darkest of the day as sunrise is around 4:30 AM. That's me - after a night of drinking and dancing -in front of the statue of Ingólfur Arnarson, the Norwegian founder of Iceland.
I have pictures of Amsterdam, but I found it far less interesting that Iceland. Maybe because I'm a big city girl and have been in many other big cosmopolitan cities. Iceland was new and "strange" for me. The hot water smells like rotten eggs and the cold tap water is the cleanest in the world. There are random sheep and rabbits just running around the countryside. There are 38 active volcanoes, so all kinds of cracks and fissures that make the landscape look like a different planet. I LOVED IT!
But enough about that. I learned the Monday I was leaving Amsterdam that my contract had been terminated the Friday previous by the megatechcorp I was working with. I'm not surprised but a little salty since before I left my manager said that they'd be keeping me around until June 30.
That means that I have all the time in the world to focus on writing!
